This Saturday bring the family and join in the fun of the second annual Tomato Festival.  With recent concerns surrounding tomatoes, know that you can shop with confidence when purchasing farm fresh tomatoes in all shapes and sizes at the City Market.  Now is a great time to load up on your favorite variety of tomato to freeze or can so you can enjoy the flavors of summer all year long.  Grilling out for the Fourth of July weekend?  There will be ripe tomatoes perfect for your picnic needs.    While at the City Market shopping, watch as local contestants compete in our second annual salsa contest.  The contest will begin at 10:00 a.m. in front of the 105.1 JACK FM tent.  You can also take part in many festival activities:  Salsa dancing by KCSalsa.com Live musical performance by the String Beans Tomato putt-putt, know the cans and a tomato toss game Recipe sampling with the University of Missouri Extension Office Wonderscope art tent Storytelling by Mother Nature Much more!
